Homicide cases are always tragic and always complicated when auto collisions become fatal. Over the past few months our office has come to know Jacob Thielbar, who has been charged with Vehicular Homicide while under the influence of alcohol. The facts of the case are complicated in that the woman who was killed, was also drinking alcohol that night and ran a stop sign causing his vehicle to crash into her vehicle. This young man will now have the opportunity to not go to prison, but be on probation with strict conditions as a result of this crime. In the criminal justice system there are simply no winners, all the attorneys can do is try to make the punishment fit the crime in some cases, and in this case, our client will be paying quite a high price, but does not have to endure years of imprisonment for it.
