GUILTY on all counts: Medical Marijuana jury convicts in case against Chris Williams

On Thursday, September 27, 2012 Williams was convicted on all eight counts of the criminal Federal Indictment charging him with drug crimes. Williams was a grower of medical marijuana until his facility was raided by Federal authorities. Williams along with several others have been criminally indicted in various Federal Courts in Montana for growing and distributing marijuana. Although at the time Montana State law allowed for medical marijuana dispensaries to sell marijuana to patients by caregivers, Federal law does not recognize that Montana State law. The DEA seized not only large quantities of marijuana from Williams facility, but also seized guns and a reported $125 million from bank accounts. The jury only deliberated for 6 hours before reaching the multi count verdict. Sentencing will be held in several weeks and the judge will determine if Williams will remain in jail pending sentencing in the near future.
