Marty Judnich Esq., President
Marty has been helping the injured for over 17 years. From working as a case manager at a famous personal injury law firm in college until after he received his law degree, Marty has excelled at helping the hurting and fighting insurance companies. Marty is a former criminal prosecutor in the Cascade County Attorney’s Office and now uses that experience to defend those accused of crimes. A University of Montana School of Law graduate, Marty focuses his practice on personal injury and criminal defense. Marty is well-known as a premier DUI defense attorney and is well versed in the insurance claims industry and has negotiated significant settlements with nearly every major insurance company. Marty is a very experienced trial attorney and will take cases to jury trial when required.

Nathan Hulling, Managing Attorney
Nathan was born in Illinois and raised in the great state of Tennessee. He attended law school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He commissioned as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps in 2009 and served his country as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate until 2017. During his Marine Corps career Nathan worked as a defense counsel in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, defending Marines charged with crimes and also as a criminal prosecutor at Camp Pendleton, California.
Nathan and his family moved to the Bitterroot Valley to take advantage of Montana’s beautiful scenery and outdoor lifestyle. Nathan is passionate about the outdoors, conservation and spending time with his family.
Vinnie Pavlish, Associate Attorney
Vinnie was heavily involved with the ASUM student union and was on staff and an editor at the Montana Law Review and participated in National Moot Court and Environmental Law Moot Court. His clinical program was a clerkship with Federal Magistrate Lynch.
Vinnie clerked for Judge Ray J. Dayton in Anaconda, Montana, for almost two years and since then has been working as an associate attorney in trial work, personal injury, and criminal defense for the Judnich Law Office. Vinnie is a very experienced trial attorney in both civil and criminal matters and works hand in hand with Marty in a team approach to achieve the best client satisfaction and results possible. Vinnie is admitted to practice in all Montana courts.
Misty Gaubatz, Associate Attorney
Misty graduated from the University of Montana School of Law. She previously served as the clinical clerk for Federal U.S. District Court Senior Judge Donald Molloy and also worked as an intern for the Montana Attorney General’s Office in the Agency Legal Services Bureau. Prior to beginning her practice as an attorney, Misty worked for well over a decade as a paralegal for a local criminal prosecution office as well as a local civil law firm.
Misty’s areas of practice include criminal defense, family law, and wills. She understands that each case is unique because each person is unique. She is passionate about working closely with clients to understand them as individuals, and to create real solutions that will work for their lives.
Outside of the office, Misty enjoys playing music and exploring Montana’s vast wilderness with her spouse, their child, and good friends.
Ashley Hurlbert, Associate Attorney
Ashley was born and raised in Butte and received her Undergraduate degree from MSU-Billings before attending law school at the University of North Dakota. While there, she clerked for a local criminal defense and family law firm. It was here that she developed her passion for helping those going through some of the toughest times of their lives. Whether navigating criminal charges, ending a marriage or fighting for parental rights, Ashley has successfully helped hundreds of clients reach positive resolutions in their cases. Ashley is also a certified family law mediator and enjoys helping parties reach solutions without proceeding to trial.
Ashley practiced In Dickinson, North Dakota for 13 years, successfully running her own firm before making the decision to move with her family back to the great state of Montana. When Ashley is not advocating for her clients, she enjoys golfing, playing softball and exploring the outdoors with her husband and children.
Brandi Wetherelt, Paralegal
Brandi focuses her efforts specifically for the family law division of the Judnich Law Office. Brandi’s lengthy legal experience in family law makes the perfect 1-2 punch with the family law team of Misty and Nathan to achieve our client’s goals. She was born and raised in Eastern Montana and later relocated to Polson, Montana. Brandi graduated from the University of Montana and majored in International Business and Business Management and Minored in Marketing. Brandi became a Paralegal through the State Bar of Montana and has over a decade of legal experience. In her free time, Brandi enjoys rafting, fly fishing, camping, hiking and spending time with her family in the great outdoors of Montana.
Monica Quesada, Paralegal
Monica has significant legal experience primarily related to civil and criminal matters. She was born in Bogota, Colombia, and after obtaining her law degree and working with the legal department of the Colombian Association of Electric Power Generators immigrated to the United States. In Florida, she worked as a legal assistant for 5 years in Miami Dade County. She is enthusiastic about helping the Latino community and in addition to assisting the office in several aspects of legal cases part of her focus is facilitating the communication between Spanish speakers and attorneys.
Monica is fascinated with the mountains of Montana. In her free time, she loves to ski and explore the trails and outdoors.
Kerry Donk, Legal Assistant
Though born in Billings, Kerry is a recent transplant from Seattle where for nearly twenty-five years she worked in the Electric Utility Industry. Part of her responsibility was to review the contractual Terms and Conditions on the projects in which she was involved. It was this interest in the law and it’s application that lead Kerry to Judnich Law Office.
